Twitter is a "language we speak"
I just came across this paragraph on the #140conf website:
At the #140conf events, we look at twitter as a platform and as a language we speak. Over time it will neither be the only platform nor the only language. #140conf is not an event about microblogging or the place where people share twitter “tips and techniques” but rather where we explore the effects of the real-time Internet on Business.
I'm 100% on board with this idea.
Twitter is just one language that we speak. Right now it is getting a ton of attention from marketers and people who make social media applications, but I don't think it will always be such a new shiny object in social media. FeedMagnet is built on the idea that social media platforms come and go, and those that stay change and evolve over time. We're like a translation service that picks up all of the chatter in different languages (Twitter being one of them) and gets it all organized into a single language for your audience to view.
While translating from social sources is interesting and needed, the things that gets us excited is the last line from above: "the effects of real-time Internet on business." This is what FeedMagnet is all about: businesses using real-time content to promote their brands, listen to customers, and engage in the community where their products are sold. Glad to see that others are catching this vision.
Hopefully we can attend the next #140conf in New York.
