An iPad in Every Hotel Room

Leading the innovation curve, the original boutique hotel company, Morgans Hotel Group, has begun providing an iPad in every guest room at their Royalton hotel in Manhattan. The iPads are part of an innovative new concierge program, and they feature content from Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and other social sources - all aggregated, filtered, and displayed using FeedMagnet.

The General Idea

Morgans Hotel Group does a fantastic job of posting interesting and relevant content to the dozens of Facebook, Twitter, and blog accounts maintained by their various hotel properties. This wealth of content is available if you know where to look, but there hasn't been a good way of showing it all in one place prior to FeedMagnet.

Morgans Hotel Group iPad app Using FeedMagnet, Morgans Hotel Group is able to aggregate content from all the social sites they manage, trending news stories, and buzz from local events (like New York Fashion Week) and display it all in an attractive layout on the iPad.

Like Flipboard, but branded and curated

The popular Flipboard iPad app that launched a few months ago also pulls in social content from Twitter and Facebook and displays it in a magazine-like format that looks great on iPads. The difference is that, with FeedMagnet, Morgans Hotel Group was able to curate the content sources themselves, and they were able to embed the display feed directly into their custom iPad app. They were also able to pull in sources like Tumblr that aren't available through Flipboard.

While Flipboard is an awesome consumer app (I use it myself, and love it!), FeedMagnet empowers brands like Morgans Hotel Group to provide a similar experience to their consumers, but filtered through the lens of their brand - making the content even more relevant to their audience and enhancing the overall brand experience.

Taking social content to new levels

We're excited about what Morgans Hotel Group has done because it is innovation both in the overall experience for hotel guests and in the way they are using social content. FeedMagnet is essentially a tool that lets forward-thinking businesses do new and innovative things using social media. Morgans Hotel Group has done something that has never been done before, and FeedMagnet helped them to do it.
