Experiential Social at OpsCode Conference
FeedMagnet recently sponsored ChefConf 2013, the IT infrastructure summit hosted by Opscode, creators of Chef. Chef is a tool that changed our business, allowing us to automate the creation and management of individual systems for customers on a large scale - and Opscode is an amazing partner.
Visualizing the Conversation
We spend so much time in our virtual communities these days. For geeks this tends to be IRC and mailing lists rather than Facebook and Twitter. At ChefConf our name badges contain both our real name and our IRC handle which is often how many people recognize you first.
It was great to see so many people congregating in meat-space around the two feedmagnet screens outside the main conference hall this week at #ChefConf2013. Many were tracking what was going on at the conference. Some were looking for their buddies in IRC to meet them in person. Others were just having fun posting pictures and tweets to watch them hit the board.
At Feedmagnet we talk about Branded Social Hubs and building online communities of customers. It is still a great deal of fun to see a social hub develop in the real world and witness the powerful connections made as a result.
