New: Google News and Twitter Lists

We really weren't kidding when we said we'd be rolling out new features quickly. Two days after launching the beta, we just rolled out two new content sources: Google News and Twitter Lists.

We've also made a few tweaks to your list of Authors and Search Topics. Our goal was to make it easier for you to find and view the content you are pulling in. Let us know what you think!

Import any news search from Google

Google News sources can be added to Search Topics. Just enter a few key words like you would on news.google.com to start pulling in updates that look like the one below.

Load Twitter lists as Author sources

Twitter List are set up just like Twitter users. Just enter a list like @inkbert/mylist into the Twitter box for an Author and we'll figure it out.

And we tweaked the interface too

We heard from a few of our early users that it was a little difficult or confusing to figure out how to view your content once you were finished setting up authors and topics. To be honest, we weren't very happy with how this was working at launch either. We listened - and we made some changes today that should make the whole process a lot easier.

Old sidebar screenshot You used to have two lists of your authors and topics: one on the View Content page, and the other on the Authors and Searches page. This didn't make a lot of sense, because when you finished adding an author or topic, you were on the Authors and Searches page and had to figure out that you needed to click View Content in the sidebar to see the results of your work.

The new interface combines these two pages into one. Now, when you roll your mouse over an author or topic, you are presented with two options: edit the author/topic, or view the content being pulled in from it. Clicking View Content opens the public view of your content feed in a new window.

We hope this makes it a lot easier to get around in FeedMagnet. We love user feedback and will continually be making changes like this to improve your experience using the site.
