The exclude filter lets you enter words that you don't want to have show up in an update. Before each update is pulled in, it is run through the exclude filter and if a match is found, the update is automatically excluded from your feed. So if you wanted to exclude a list of words you found offensive, you could enter an exclude filter that looked like this:
- "crummy" or "stupid" or "crap" or "bollocks"
With that filter set up, any updates that use any of those words would be automatically excluded
