Engaging Riders to Make a Tangible Impact

Cycle for Survival

One of the fastest growing athletic fundraising events, Cycle for Survival, looked to FeedMagnet to help increase social media activation and engagement at its high-energy, indoor team cycling event. The rides raise money for rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the world's oldest and largest private cancer center.

Cycle for Survival deployed FeedMagnet to build a custom event screen for their annual event which was held in twelve Equinox fitness clubs from coast-to-coast throughout February and March 2013. The event screen captured and displayed content from Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook that was searched for, filtered, and displayed by the FeedMagnet platform.

This FeedMagnet screen was shown at all Cycle for Survival rides and participants were able to see their photos and social media posts immediately during the event. This encouraged participants to spread the word about the ride and show the event through their own experience, better connecting and encouraging the community that was riding to make a tangible impact in the fight to beat rare cancers. This year riders raised $14 million for research, bringing the total raised since 2007 to over $31 million.
